“On the Banks of my own Lovely Lee”

Last Wednesday. October 10th, Rang a Sé ventured on a field trip along the course of the  River Lee. With Príomhoide Iníon Uí Mhurchú as tour guide, they stopped along various points including the Gearagh, Toon’s Bridge, Inchigeelagh and Ballingeary to name but a few. A highlight of our trip was visiting the beautiful Gougane Barra. There we saw the source of the River Lee. Another highlight was seeing the Inniscarra Dam where electricity is generated. They were also very lucky to meet local man Neil Lucey  who told them all about the legend of St. Finbarr and Gougane Barra. They were full of knowledge as they journeyed home over the Inniscarra bridge and back to school! Thank you to Iníon Uí Mhurchú who organised and planned such a wonderful outdoor classroom experience.
