Each class group in Scoil Mhuire takes a trip together towards the end of the school year along with their class teachers (and additional staff as required). For many children this is the highlight of the year -they love the bus trip, lunch in a new setting and spending the entire day with their friends as well as enjoying the activities that are planned. Trips vary from year to year and we are always adapting to include new opportunities that become available. Every year we try to ensure that trips are both educational, active and fun – whether it’s Junior Infants learning about animals at Fota Wildlife Park or 6th class having an opportunity to try out canoeing at Ballyhass Lakes! There is typically some cost to families to cover entrance fees and bus hire, but we endeavor to keep costs to a minimum as we plan trips and we give plenty of notice when payment is due.
