Athletics is an important part of the year’s sports programme in Scoil Mhuire. The school takes part in the Cork County Primary Sports every year and always with great success! Training takes place in school.
This year (2014) our athletics team came home with 17 trophies and 3 cups! In their own division they got three firsts, three seconds and three thirds. They got first place in the relay U.11 and O. 11. They won a County final and they won the overall prize in their division.
This is not our first time sweeping the boards at the Cork Sports: in 2011 and 2013 Scoil Mhuire won the overall team in Division 1 of the event. What is the recipe for success? Great talent and great training!
